2 changes make a HUGE difference

thankfully when i bought my house the kitchen wasn’t HORRIBLE. i told my realtor i either wanted a place with a nice kitchen and sucky floors or sucky kitchen with nice floors. that way i wouldn’t have to spend a small fortune on renovating both.

So, here's the way my kitchen looked when i bought it. cabinets are nice enough, if i have to have laminate cabinets id rather them look like wood and be neutral. i wasn’t crazy about the pulls, i prefer handles. I also hated the outdated appliances. one quick trip to the store, and both problems solved.

I bought an 5 piece appliance bundle from a local outlet store at huge discount. i'm pretty sure they were older modles but they look nice and modern. they're from LG which is a great brand, i'm really happy with them :) they actually brought me a new dishwasher by mistake, it was $100 more expensive than what i paid for in the store...i didnt correct their mistake , haha. here's hoping karma doesnt punish me too badly!
eventually i'll change the countertops, its the last thing about the kitchen that i'm not fond of, but again neutral laminate is something i can deal with....for now ;)

my new problem is...what do i do with all of these??

anyone have any creative uses for me? if not i'll donate them

  1. I wish I lived close to you, because we have no knobs in our kitchen, these would make life easier!

The kitchen looks great, I can't believe what a difference just those two changes made.

  2. Wow - the new appliances make a HUGE difference. Gorgeous!!

And I'm a 2nd for donated knobs if you'd like to pass them along. I've been wanting hardware for my cabinets for a while.

We did countertops, backsplash and appliances in the last two years.

  3. I'm Jackie too. Wish my kitchen update that I am working on right now was that simple. We live in a 80's ranch that we are updating and the kitchen is our current project. Yours looks great, as for the knobs donate or yard sale. We will have lots of remodel items for a yard sale. Jackie

  4. Your new appliances look great!

I say donate the knobs to the Salvation Army (my personal favorite) or Goodwill. Maybe that'll even out your karma.

  5. I would think of mounting the knobs on the inside of my closet door to hang belts, necklaces or scarves.
Or mount them on a piece of decorative, painted wood, if you want to put them in a visible place.
    Like the kitchen update!

  7. You can use a few of the knobs to make some dollar store apothecary jars like I did here:

    Great kitchen redo!

  9. The kitchen looks good! I use those little knobs to top of homemade cloches. I take an inverted juice glass and Gorilla glue a knob on top. Then I set in on a plate and voila a mini cloche.

  11. Those handles made a huge difference!! And of course new appliances don't hurt. ;)

I'm slowly replacing my appliances as they die off. I'm thinking it might take 10 years for them all to match. LOL

  12. Hi Jackie-

You could use the old knobs to create a hanging rack. Just get a scrap piece of molding an attach a few across. You can hang just about anything from them.
